We all know how important it is to wash our hands frequently to keep dirt and germs at bay, but if your skin is sensitive then all this washing can cause your hands to become sore and dry. Putty for Your Hands is a brand new invention that uses soothing ingredients like oats, vegetable glycerine, marshmallow mucilage and shea butter to soothe and moisturise the skin as it cleanses.

Putty for Your Hands has a soft, squidgy consistency and a gentle lavender, tea tree and chamomile fragrance (the same as in our gentle Fresh Farmacy facial cleanser). There’s no soap base in this one so it will feel different from normal soap, but you can use it in the same way; rubbing the bar lightly over the hands under running water. Alternatively, you can break off a small piece and squidge it between your palms with water, rubbing this paste over your hands to wash them thoroughly. It doesn’t contain the foaming agents which can sometimes irritate sensitive skin, so it won’t lather like you’re used to; but don’t worry, it will still get your hands beautifully clean.

Mark and Mo met a lovely lady called Sacha, one of the managers from Lush Chicago. When Mark shook her hand, he noticed just how sore, cracked and dry the skin of her hands was. Coincidentally, Mo had been working with corn flour, talc and making mucilages from beautiful ingredients like oats and marshmallow root. Turning these ingredients into a hand cleansing wash was the next obvious step for Mo: to save Sacha’s hands!

Putty for Your Hands is an effective, traditional and completely natural remedy with beautiful ingredients to soothe, soften and help repair skin. Oats are used by infusing them in water and using the resulting starchy liquid to soothe itchy, dry or sensitive skin. Marshmallow mucilage has been by used by traditional healers and herbalists since ancient times for its lubricating and soothing properties. Glycerine in soaps has moisturising properties, softens the skin and allows the absorption of the toning oils, while also balancing the cleansing effects of the soap. And for the perfume? Chamomile, lavender and tea tree oil: this classic trio of essential oils are used In Dream Cream, Fresh Farmacy and now Putty for your Hands. These oils are antiseptic, antibacterial and can help reduce redness, irritation, and are even known to help repair and soothe the skin.
